The whole premise of "survival of the fittest" is beyond our control.
By not acting on what WE can do about it (ie. Exercising restraint), we're denying ourselves, our country(ies) and our planet the possibility of something better. There are always costs involved, with good and bad.
That is after all.. what evolution is all about.
Terrorism is not evolution.
We exterminate (to the best of our ability) all kinds of other infestations -- why should they be treated any differently...

I think we should just always maintain a small but powerful military presence in that part of the world. Using Nuclear weapons is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. I kind of wish Superman would just scoop up all the nukes and toss them to Jupiter.

Not that i don't admire, the whole "survival of the fittest" deal, for it is somewhat similar to the "will-to-power" deal. But I would just like to point out, that evolution isn't necessarily progession to a level of perfection. It is beyond good and evil. And what may be "fittest" today, may be a weakness tomorrow. But i'm not content, to say that evolution even is a survival of the fittest. The weak rule today, on both sides of the current battle. The weak have in essence taken control of evolution thru their systems and institutions (for the weak need crutches and idols.) Capitalist-State Democracy on this side... Islamic Fundamentalism on the other. While i don't enjoy watching ppl die on either side, it is sort of fun to watch one's enemies fight each other. The only way out is through... and the weak will kill each other off, that's the only real possiblity of something better. A world that isn't enslaved to ideals of good and evil.

We've already destroyed the "survival of the fittest" plan with our technology. Some time ago, if you were blind you probably would have been eaten by some wild animal before you had the chance to have children, hence the gene for blindness would have never passed on. Before our modern medicines if you had a weak immune system you would have probably died before having children, and that gene wouldnt have been passed on. Because of technology we are helping the "weak" survive long enough to pass on less desireable genes, causing our race as a hole to weaken as the weak genes spread. Not saying helping people is a BAD thing, its just we've warped mother natures "survival of the fittest" plan.

Why is Iraq being discussed still anyways? Didn't Bush personally fly the fighter jet that killed Saddam, and then he came back and said mission accomplished? Folks the war is over... let's make Bush president for life and be done with... but where is Osama?
Interesting thing about Saddam's gassing of the Kurds in Northern Iraq that everybody brings up: was intended as a strike AGAINST the PKK... a kurdish-islamic fundamentalist/"freedom fighting" group, with direct ties to Al Qaeda. So we capture the only leader in the Arab world not tied Islamic Fundamentalism (Saddam's an athesit who put on a show for the arab world's support during war), and who also was maybe the first world leader to fight against Al Qaeda, but Osama's still running around. Makes sense i guess. Sorry, i think Bush was just mad that Saddam tried to kill daddy, and instead of putting himself on the line, decided to use soldiers.
